Considering that millions of people open emails on their mobile devices may mean that your medical practice should update some of its marketing strategies. Your emails and various marketing messages should be tailored for effective reading on smart phones.
Below are some suggestions to consider when updating your marketing for the small screen.
- Be brief and concise. Being too wordy when someone is using a smart phone is not a good idea. Consumers have a smaller screen and limited patience when it comes to reading information on a phone. This also means limiting the amount of characters in the subject line as well as keeping content short so it can be read briefly.
- Avoid too many images. Not all cell phones display images properly, sometimes revealing white space instead of the image. Androids, for example, immediately shut down many images. It is best to experiment with cell phones to see if your images will be appropriately displayed. If not, leave them out. Your content is more important.
- Know what you want. Be quick to let the reader know the purpose of each message. Due to the busyness and fast pace of life, people often do not read an entire message. It’s most effective to capture your consumers’ attention early and let them know why you are writing.
- Be mobile friendly. Keep links far enough apart so that they can be easily accessed via touch screen. Also, your images should be no more than 600 pixels wide for optimum viewing on smaller screens.
If your medical practice has not taken into consideration the amount of potential clients who are viewing your marketing information from a smart phone, now is the time! For tips on more recent developments in the medical marketing field, check out “Medical Marketing Trends for 2016.”
